Ingredients for Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo
Before you start cooking, make sure you have these simple ingredients on hand. They’re likely to already be staples in your kitchen!
- Chicken Breasts: Boneless, skinless chicken breasts work best for this recipe. They cook quickly and stay moist in the Instant Pot.
- Fettuccine: Traditional fettuccine pasta is ideal, but you can use other pasta types if desired.
- Heavy Cream: This gives the Alfredo sauce its luxurious creaminess.
- Parmesan Cheese: Freshly grated Parmesan creates the best texture and flavor in the sauce.
- Garlic: Adds that aromatic depth of flavor that complements the creaminess of the sauce.
- Chicken Broth: Provides the base for the sauce and ensures the chicken cooks properly.
- Butter: Adds richness and flavor to the sauce.
- Salt & Pepper: To season the dish to your taste.
- Italian Seasoning (optional): For an added touch of Italian flavor.

Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo – Important Tips
- I am using fettuccine, but you can use any shape of pasta like penne or spaghetti, etc.
- If you don’t have shredded parmesan in hand, use a regular block of parmesan, but make sure to grate it with Microplane so that it melts well.
- Avoid Pre Shredded parmesan because the sauce will become thin and not that creamy.

- Try to use heavy cream instead of whipping cream, using whipping cream will make your sauce too thinner, its simply because it has less fat content.
- Of course, you can use more parmesan cheese to adjust the thickness of your sauce if using whipping cream
- When you open the lid the sauce will look watery and thin, don’t worry as the sauce starts to cool down it will thicken.
How to Serve Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo
Chicken Alfredo is a hearty and satisfying dish on its own, but here are some great sides and additions that complement it perfectly:
- Garlic Bread: A crispy, buttery garlic bread is the perfect accompaniment to this rich dish.
- Side Salad: A fresh, light salad with a tangy vinaigrette balances the richness of the Alfredo sauce.
- Steamed Vegetables: Lightly steamed vegetables like broccoli or asparagus provide a burst of color and nutrition.
How to Store and Reheat Chicken Alfredo
Storage: Allow the Chicken Alfredo to cool down to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
Reheating: To reheat, place the dish in a microwave-safe bowl, add a splash of milk or cream, and heat on medium power, stirring occasionally until warmed through. Alternatively, reheat it on the stovetop over low heat, adding a bit of cream or broth to loosen the sauce.
